Fall – or at least as close to fall as we’re gonna get in SoCal – is well underway, so naturally I’ve been thinking about spring. I recently found a couple skeins of heather gray yarn from an abandoned scarf project and thought I’d put it to good use on this spring bound felt and yarn wreath.
Photographing this wreath was just as fun as making it. I love the hearty, composite feeling of felt fabrics. These close-ups really convey those tactile qualities:
Mums are my favorite flower to imitate in felt; I also find them to be the most forgiving in the assembly stages. Roses on the other hand, are a bit trickier and more limiting, but they look gorgeous in trios like this one:
